*The Dream Season*

2017 Fortuna Boys Golf Season

This Fortuna High golf season 2016-2017 was a season that I’ll never forget. The fortuna high golf team and I had our sights on one objective; and one objective only. Our goal was win a HDN title and that would end up leading to one. Del Norte though was a good team that has won 4-straight HDN titles but the Huskies were determined to finally win one before our seniors go off to college. We started off beating Del Norte at Willow Creek by 20 and they would answer back and grab a 6 shot lead. This close battle would soon end when we went to Benbow and dominated the field and grab a 40 shot lead for the HDN title. The final tournament and the final hole for me was the most emotion that I felt in a long time. In my mind I never thought we would win a title but with hard work and dedication anything is possible. When we were told that we won HDN a burst of excitement and emotion released and I was mind blown I couldn’t process what we just had accomplished as a team. We ended up beating Del Norte by 10 shots and that concluded to our first title since 1995. That in my opinion is great and historical achievement that we accomplished and I am blessed and proud to be a husky golfer and proud that my hard work over the summer has finally paid off.

We ended up getting to go to sectionals in Santa Rosa and competing for a sectional title. Unfortunately we didn’t do it but it was my first experience in a highly competitive round of golf. The trip and food was also paid for by our school and that was pretty cool that we could stay in a hotel and go out to eat for free. That season was the most memorable season that I’ve ever experienced and I hope I can someday do it again and relive the moment. When I got back home I said to myself “I gotta go back and represent my team again and play better. Now this next year I’ll try even harder to get back to sections.

Salary for the Armed Forces

Average Salary for the Armed Forces

As you grow up and get older;you will have decisions to make that could possibly change your life. You’ll probably have to choose between the workforce or joining the military. The military can be a get set-up for your future. For example if you join the military you get to go to the college of your choice and study for what you wanna become after the military. In my opinion I give my most respect to every man and women who give their life everyday so that we can be free and carry on the red, white, and blue cheer in peace. The military has multiple job opportunities that they provide so you can improve your intelligence and in the future become a success in the future. But the military is a very dangerous job category to be in even if you're behind a desk doing military papers because the enemy can be anywhere and when the time is right anything can happen and can lead to a disaster.

People in the military can make up to $ 99,000 a year and be paid for housing and food. That yearly salary also depends on your class and rank in the military. If for example if your an E1 or private you’ll make a minimum salary of 17,892 dollars annually with no benefits. But when you’re in E-6 staff sergeant or higher 27,814 for less than two years and rises to 34,636 dollars for 6 years. Those are the yearly salaries for only enlisted soldiers. But if you go to college then go into the military your salary can sky rocket up to 68,000 for six years. That shows that you should really go to college for a while so you can get into a higher rank and make more money.
